Our Team

  • Ganesh Kohli

    In 2010, Ganesh Kohli jointly founded KIC UnivAssist with a vision to bring American education to the world. Ganesh is now the Chief Mentor for UnivAssist, providing thought leadership and direction to a fast

    growing organization. Ganesh has established many successful enterprises over the years, especially focused on the engagement/counseling needs of high schools and colleges around the world. Ganesh founded KIC (initially known as Kohli International Consultants) in 1997 as a test preparation and college counseling center for American education. Over the years, he has trained and counseled several thousand students, who have studied at a number of prestigious U.S. institutions. His teaching accomplishments include tutoring a student who produced an absolute 340 score on the GRE in 2013. Recognized as a thought leader in the community, Ganesh has visited over 450 U.S. colleges and universities in the last two decades, presented on U.S. education at several hundred high schools and colleges and been a regular participant and presenter at NAFSA and OACAC conferences. An engineer by education, he has also worked at different high schools as a teacher and college counselor. Ganesh is also leading an effort to bring the counseling community together through the IC3 Conference (www.ic3conference.com). He also volunteers with The Soul Science Foundation to bring meditation and life skills education to children in different parts of the world.   • Swaraj Nandan

    As KIC UnivAssist Director and co-founder, Swaraj Nandan brings strong international perspective to the management team. He currently leads UnivAssist’s U.S. office and is responsible for product strategy and day-to-day

    operations. Over the years, Swaraj's work experience with multinationals has spanned multiple industries and countries, bringing with him a unique ability to drive constant innovation. Along his corporate stints with global financial services and consumer goods firms, Swaraj has continued to serve the educational needs in the community and has been an active mentor to students joining U.S. universities. A familiar face on the conference circuit, Swaraj has presented at NAFSA national conferences, all 11 NAFSA regional conferences, AIEA, OACAC, NYGAP and most recently at the SACAC conference. Swaraj also served on the Board of Directors of Lend-A-Hand India, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing vocational education and training in rural India.   • Kate Lotz

    As Assistant Director of Communications, Kate creates and develops our marketing/communications, branding and publication strategy. Uniquely positioned with backgrounds in higher education and in

    international relations, Kate has lived and worked abroad in India, China, and the Caribbean, and has also served in student services and university academic resources administration. She completed undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Denver with a Master’s degree in International Studies and Bachelor’s degrees in Philosophy and French.   • Tracy Beavers

    As Marketing Coordinator, Tracy Beavers works in areas including social media and graphic design for UnivAssist. She brings more than five years of experience from a variety of fields including equine and medical non-profit

    industries. Outside of work, Tracy enjoys showing her horse, spending time with family and eating at favorite local restaurants. Tracy graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Agricultural Communication. She is based in Columbus, Ohio, and can be reached at tracy.beavers@univassist.com

  • Nicole Weathers

    As a Marketing and Communications Coordinator, Nicole Weathers assists in developing content in areas including social media and email marketing. Nicole's previous experience includes content writing and editing,

    social media strategy and execution, and website development and maintenance. Nicole holds a B.S. in Management and Marketing. Outside of work, she loves to travel and spend time with her Goldendoodle, Costanza. She is based in Chicago, Illinois and can be reached at nicole.weathers@univassist.com.

  • Tanvi Kamdar

    As Assistant Manager Communications, Tanvi helps to develop content, and also looks after email communications and logistics for recruitment tour programs. Tanvi’s previous experiences include content writing and editorial

    coordination for an IT firm and a publication house. She holds a graduation degree in BMM (Journalism) from Ramnarain Ruia College and has also completed a Diploma course in Journalism from K.C.   • Rohit Kandari

    As Assistant Director of Outreach, Rohit oversees the planning and implementation of various operational tasks for the university group tours in India and Southeast Asia. Rohit holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and has been

    working in the field of International Education for over four years. He is passionate about advising students and families in choosing the right-fit career path and institution. Before he joined UnivAssist, Rohit led a test-prep center in Mumbai and counseled hundreds of students on college choices, admission requirements, trends, financial aid opportunities, apprenticeship programs and job opportunities.   • Shweta Singh

    As Senior Counselor, Shweta assists in planning and implementation of various operational tasks for student recruitment tours in India and Southeast Asia. Shweta completed her Master's in Sales and Marketing and a diploma in

    Public Relations. Shweta has a background of communication and customer interaction, with experience in the telecom and NGO sectors. Shweta is based in Mumbai, and can be reached at counselor@univassist.com

  • Mudita Shah

    As HR Manager, Mudita brings in almost eight years of experience as an HR generalist in the education sector. She has worked in K-12 schools and across educational boards.

    Her forte has been developing and implementing HR policies and processes, driving HR functions and creating a happy and fun work space for employees. She has completed her Master's in Human Resource from ICFAI University. She fluently speaks English, Hindi, Gujarati, Kutchi. Mudita can be reached at mudita.shah@univassist.com.

Advisory Board

  • Dr. Joe Potts

    Dr. Joe Potts is assistant vice provost for international programs at the University of Kansas. He has recently returned to his alma mater after serving for three years as associate dean of international programs at Purdue

    University. Dr. Potts holds graduate degrees from the University of Kansas and Kansas State University. Before his service at Purdue, he directed International Student and Scholar Services at KU for fourteen years. Dr. Potts has lived and worked in both China and Japan and consulted on development projects in Vietnam. He was a Rotary Foundation ambassador to Brazil and served as a Department of State representative in Saudi Arabia. Dr. Potts has published work on theories of culture, the role of ethics in leadership, and the development of models for measuring the impact of international students on their host campuses. His teaching resume includes English language, leadership studies, and undergraduate and graduate courses in philosophy.

  • Dr. Mike Brzezinski

    Dr. Mike Brzezinski began his career at Purdue University in 1993. In addition to directing the International Students and Scholars office for 16 years, Brzezinski has led International Programs as dean since 2009. Under his leadership, 9,000

    international students from more than 120 countries are now enrolled. A new study abroad initiative has increased student participation rates to their highest levels ever: more than 2,000 Purdue students study around the world on an annual basis. Furthermore, a new intercultural learning initiative has been established, focused on promoting and assessing intercultural learning that occurs during overseas study experiences as well as during co-curricular activities both on and off campus. Under Dr. Brzezinski’s leadership, a student integration subunit was created to promote learning between domestic and international students. Last but not least, Dr. Brzezinski was instrumental in spearheading a unique funding model at Purdue that led to the creation of nine positions assigned across the campus that focus on providing services to international undergraduate students.
